This story covered the release of the College Football Playoff rankings. I explored both Arizona State angles and Big 12 angles, while using a conversational tone to break down a topic that can easily be misunderstood. I also got to ask a question to the CFP chair, and wrote this story on a deadline with limited sources.
During my coverage of 2025 Big 12 Media Days, I wrote several stories that were flipped and published in the same day based on my own story ideas, quotes, and coverage. This story about Arizona State QB Sam Leavitt and WR Jordyn Tyson was picked up by several outlets, including azcentral.com.
I wrote a profile piece on New York Giants running back Cam Skattebo during his rookie season in the NFL. This story showcases some of the widespread sourcing I did for stories that were not locally available. This is also one of my favorite stories with an anecdotal lead and theme through line.
These stories were written for Sports Illustrated On SI, covering both Arizona Wildcats and Duke Blue Devils athletics. Between both sites, I wrote four stories daily and built a beat for each site. I also contributed to the editing and publishing process for stories on various On SI sites as well.

All game stories, which include interviews with coaches and star players and full reports of the events in each contest. Also, there is a feature story focused on the backup quarterback and a profile story based around the head coach.
Here you can find my freelance writing on subjects I found interesting in the NFL and College Football realms. I worked on a self-imposed short-deadline for each story, and also wrote features relevant to the current news cycle. Features ranged from exploring the final Pac-12 football season in-depth, to the rise of popularity in Colorado football behind Deion Sanders. I also wrote live reaction and analysis pieces on the 2023 and 2024 NFL Drafts.
